Reflections on What Matters.

It has been a while since I wrote on this platform. I have been so busy lately that writing seems to be happening in my heart more than with my hands . . . The good news is that I have so much to share with you, especially in this yuletide season.

Yesterday, I took a trip with my bicycle to the neighbourhood market and on my way, I saw something that struck my heart in a very unique way. A young man was soundly asleep in the sun, on the ground (not floor), by the road, under a shrub; with face nested in the mound of earth and all kinds of crawling things going about their business around him, yet he sleept soundly. I almost thought he was dead, but he was not.

I stood there and watched in awesome wonder how vain and empty all things are. Those with the best of beds, in the best of rooms could not sleep; those without any place to lay their head sleep soundly without concern. Wow!

Just in case you still have reasons to be angry with God for 2020 and the situations in your life, you should know that you are actually a lot better than many people . . . you have your not too fancy bed and you actually get to sleep on it. Infact, you are even able to read this post, on a mobile phone! You are doing a lot better than you admit. Be grateful!!!!!

As this year grinds to an end, please let your heart be filled with thanksgiving. Refuse to pay attention to things that did not go as planned; instead, praise the LORD for His mercies endures forever.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Amen.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.
